FIRST RESPONDERS AND VETERANS. I have been where you are or have been. I have personally experienced the extreme hardships of being a law enforcement officer on the streets of Wichita for more than 18 years. I have suffered the mental anguish and heartbreak of losing friends and loved ones in the line of duty. An important part of my personal recovery has been completing a Masters' Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and working directly with others, like us, who have chosen to ask for help from professional, experienced and dedicated counselors and educators. My journey has given me a unique and empathetic perspective and effective tools to support and diminish the invisible wounds and scars of public service.
I specialize in addressing the challenges of traumas and complex traumas that have directly caused depression, anxiety, anger, uncertainty, and PTSD. I use integrative evidence-based techniques, therapies, and interventions for therapeutic healing. My therapies include Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as other recognized therapeutic approaches to helping clients regain their personal-best equilibrium, outlook, and behaviors.
I provide a safe, empathetic and confidential space to every client for healing and growth. I am committed to creating an environment that every individual can feel understood and able to freely navigate their thoughts, emotions, and actions freely, safely, and with deeper understanding.
As someone who has been where you presently find yourself, I bring this personal and professional understanding of trauma-informed perspective to every client, striving to help each person toward new resilience and a clear understanding of what the road will require to achieve personal well-being and life-rewarding wellness, with an unwavering commitment to maintaining each person's privacy and trust. VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. I have been where you are or have been. I have personally experienced the extreme hardships of being a military pilot in combat. I served in combat in Vietnam and Bosnia. My military career as a pilot lasted more than 21 years. I have suffered the trauma, mental anguish, and heartbreak of losing friends and loved ones by my extreme and undisciplined behavior and unknown gut-clenching anger. An important part of my personal recovery has been completing a Masters’ Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and working directly with others, like us, who have chosen to ask for help from professional, experienced and dedicated counselors and educators. My journey has given me a unique and empathetic perspective and effective tools to support and diminish the invisible wounds and scars of military service and combat.
